Darkness sets upon this night <br /> As the creeping moon is rising <br /> The resonating sounds of silence <br /> Cry out to those who seek <br /> The companionship of shadows. <br /> <br /> A deep vast endless vacuum <br /> Of the blackened out day. <br /> They are sucked into an existence <br /> Where darkness looms over them <br /> Cradling them, and blankets them with security. <br /> <br />Released from the mares that haunt the mind <br /> Taken in by the shielding shadows of the dark, <br /> They are embellished with life anew <br /> Away from the solitude reaped <br /> By the scars of wounds that bite. <br /> <br />In the ultimate playground of discontent, <br /> In a locked asylum of euphoria, <br /> Under the unending veil of darkness <br /> Do they smile and frolic <br /> Soothed by the kiss of night. <br /> <br />So feel the night, black as coal <br /> And soft as velvet, beneath your fingertips <br /> The sun has set, leaving us with memories <br /> Of a neon sunset that shocked the sky <br /> with colour, only to let the colour die <br /> <br />A clandestine night cloud waves by <br /> Like a magician's hand to reveal <br /> The pearl sitting amidst the night <br /> Pastel colours beneath a diamond studded sky <br /> Trading places with creeping shadows. <br /> <br />Cries cut through the cool crisp air <br /> And excite the darkness with wild imaginings <br /> Lining their walls with joyous despair <br /> And disappointed tragedies <br /> Bleeding darkness across the endless ceiling <br /> <br />So feel the night, black as coal <br />And soft as velvet, beneath your fingertips….<br /><br />DEEP DARK SOUL POET<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/feel-the-night/
