Five dead roses,
For five dead days,
Days that once,
Would light my way.

First dead rose,
For valentines day,
When you stood quietly in the hallway.
You bought a box of chocolates,
Cause they were my love
But no, just that, wasn’t enough,
You gave me a letter
With two roses stuck togather
You said they represent us,
From now to forever.

Second dead rose,
You so happily chose,
The day you went on one knee,
And asked me to forever be yours,
A ring you made me wear,
A rose for extra care,
A kiss to my forehead,
To prove youll always be here,

The third dead rose,
For such gloomy days,
Though togather, we were stck our own ways.
You promised me my best,
Youd help me become,
With a rose on my bedside,
Just for good luck.

The final dead rose,
I remember so clear,
I sat on the backseat,
With you so near.
You bought me that rose,
To prove forever we will hold.
But your forever faded away,
Oh so very soon.

I saw the lights coming,
Crashing me into the dark,
As your soul slowly from us depart.
I opened my eyes to reality in front,
Realized our love, had finally gone.
Your not dead,
But just dead to me.
Your still alive,
But said we’re just not meant to be.
Five dead roses in my book ill always keep,
For five dead days to darkness it made me lead.

Wardah Arshad

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/five-dead-roses/
