My nose can’t be trusted. <br />It works when it wants. <br />It’s the sense of smell not discernment <br />Most times it’s on reactive delay <br />Other times open to suggestion <br />If a fire breaks out I’m in trouble. <br />It’s opened wide, just not always awake. <br />It’s what the nose knows <br />Don’t follow this nose <br />It knows not where it goes <br />Nor what it does <br />It smells badly and resists gladly the obvious <br />It doesn’t take much <br />And there’s no way of knowing <br />Where the nose and smell are going <br />Let’s wait awhile to smell <br />What the nose is showing <br />It will happen later than sooner <br />It’s what the nose knows<br /><br />derrick foster<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/what-the-nose-knows/
