The harsh light of day, <br />Wreaks havoc on my skin. <br />I can’t go out in it, <br />I’ll burn for sure. <br /> <br />The harsh light of day keeps us inside, <br />My brothers, sisters and I, <br />We need to roam and feel freedom, <br />But we can’t until the light goes out. <br /> <br />In the night we crawl and creep and feed, <br />We have fun killing all the people, <br />We drink from veins and love the screams, <br />If only we could do it all the time. <br /> <br />The light in the day makes it impossible for us, <br />But we do not dismay. <br />We know when the night comes around, <br />We’ll be free to play.<br /><br />Rachel Brewer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-harsh-light-of-day/
