A trooper was shot the other day <br />Though he had no goal to be a hero <br />Shot by a man who was a zero <br />While trying to save a young boy's life <br /> <br />The trooper had three daughters and a wife <br />Yet when the disgruntled man moved the gun <br />and fear was that he was training it on his son <br />The trooper put at risk his entire life <br /> <br />The Trooper and the gunman both died <br />Evil and goodness side by side <br />One will be forgotten and despised <br />The other certainly raised up, I summised <br /> <br />But this I cannot easily forget <br />There are people who serve <br />They don't always seem to deserve what they get <br />But from service they never swerve <br /> <br />They are people ruled by their heart <br />More than by fear or nerve <br />Seeing the hero's memorial service <br />His untimely death........he didn't deserve this <br /> <br />But for heros must be a higher calling <br />These good servants who give their life <br />Survived by mourning children and a wife <br />He met every test of life...God embraced his soul as he was falling<br /><br />JAMES T.
