They would not give them the time of day. <br />Dismissing their appearance, <br />And every word they would say. <br /> <br />Then one day came along, <br />To elevate their importance. <br />And corrected beliefs that were wrong. <br /> <br />Now those who had been dismissed... <br />Are treated as if they are treasures and gifts, <br />To the world. <br /> <br />And since they've always known that, <br />They manage to keep their humbleness intact! <br />Choosing not to return the disrespect, <br />To them for centuries had been hurled! <br /> <br />They were of a higher consciousness! <br />While others were of gluttony. <br />Concerned with getting their pockets filled. <br />And egos to splurge with unhealthy butts that got fat!<br /><br />Lawrence S.
