There are people here who call themselves poets <br />Self-ordained, passionate people...and they let you know it <br />They rate far more than they write <br />Seek only the ratings limelight <br />Shallow souls who are sore losers in life's fight <br />and claim quality is their plight <br />but they rate upwards of 20 -30 poems a day <br />All glowing reviews <br />All 10's <br />That's how they roll and play! <br />But they try to sweep this little fact away <br />'under the rug' as they say! <br />Some are crafty and clever <br />Their glowing praise for you will grab your lever <br />But their praise is as meanligless as a smokers cough <br />because they praise so regularly...so oft <br />Till you're addicted the praise and can't cut it off! <br />And this is how they suck you in <br />to their Hell bent aim to win some poet prize <br />hoping all along you won't catch on and realize <br />And if you do they'll scorn you <br />Will throw you out like an old shoe <br />because you're no longer a tool <br />You'll be tossed out like a fool <br />I'm one who runs away from such crap <br />They give honest people a bad rap <br />Instead of dealing with their phony praise <br />I'd rather talk to someone real....or take a nap <br />Rather than clicking away with a computer on my lap <br />They'll sit and read this poem and try to discount it <br />or shield it from view <br />because they want to have a lock on you <br />If you send out poems for their review <br />the'll suck your blood until it turns blue <br />but they'll throw you out as soon as they're through with you <br />that's the game as it's played... it's what they do <br />They're looking for more suckers...just like you! <br />You're marked as one as soon as you solicit others <br />to read your poem and review <br />They'll make a monkey out of you <br />If we all did that.....this place would be like a zoo <br />Have some class <br />Resist the temptation <br />To beg for a review <br />Because it will leave a permanent mark on you! <br />That's just what the click whores want you to do!<br /><br />JAMES T.
