I sit in my room <br />Complete silence <br />Reliving a memory that you and i shared <br />It quiets my mind <br />And opens my heart <br />My eyes close and a hint of a smile crosses my lips <br />The feel of your lips is fresh in my mind <br />But soon it will fade away <br />So quickly it goes <br />The memory is going to be gone soon <br />The knowledge of this makes me sad <br />I put it to the back of my mind for now <br />Just concentrating on our memory <br />I lay perfectly still <br />Not making a sound <br />Eyes closed <br />Mind empty <br />Heart filled with you <br />So peaceful in this world <br />My own little world <br />I'm relaxed and all is well <br />Until i hear a door open <br />A voice fills my silence <br />And hatred fills my mind <br />I shut down so they dont see <br />Hiding the real me <br />A fake smile, is what i wear <br />Feels so normal, and that makes me scared <br />As the memories fade <br />And my eyes open <br />I see the real world <br />Nothing like mine <br />Here there are fights almost every night <br />Here there is no such thing as silence <br />Screaming is what invites me in <br />Making me want to leave this place <br />Moms in a bad mood tonight <br />Which means everyone else has to be <br />My sister will scream back <br />Moms gf will be silent <br />I will stay in my room and write my feelings <br />Tonight will be interesting <br />I'll stay strong for you <br />Reaching for your hand <br />Hoping you will never let me go <br />Time to face my biggest fears... <br />This house <br />And the people who it shelters<br /><br />Prince ....<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/wish-i-could-stay-in-our-memory-forever/
