I slept like a baby last night
don't know why
Maybe it was the sakura
the cherry blossoms against the moonlit sky
walking with you hand in hand
in a distant and foreign land
but could have been anywhere
as long as you were with me there
simple streetlamps lit our path
as we walked and talked amongst petals fallen
in the distance as far as we could see, there was no one else
just you and me
and then I must have fallen asleep
I slumbered for hours and didn't make a peep
and when I awoke I turned to you
but you were not there
but I felt your smile and the silkiness of your hair
and the touch of your skin bare
and it's nice to know
that you're somewhere

JAMES T.
