I see my shadowy silhouette, <br />As I gaze into your gleaming but gloomy lenses, <br />And at last I come to my senses, <br />It's as if I'm seeing you for the first time, <br />The way the cynical soliloquies of your soul, <br />Reflect the cyanide serenades of mine, <br />If only we can stop touching and just feel, <br />If only we can stop looking and just see that this is real, <br />But through your empty sighs and hollow cries <br />And my unlit eyes a veil over apathetic lies, <br />We are failing, <br />And the dim light at the end of the tunnel that illimuminates the awakening I desire, <br />Shows me everything as it vanquishes our fire, <br />We lay side by side and we stroke eachother's hair, <br />Such a shame to realize how little we both care, <br />And when you truly look at what is real, <br />You see there's nothing there.<br /><br />Twisted Moon<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/eloquent-apathy/
