The jitters of November could be felt, <br /> <br />It was coming-the unknown but the inevitable! ! ! <br /> <br />The shutters were thus laid, <br /> <br />The unseen debts were yet to be paid, <br /> <br />The tourniquet of love became blatant......... <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The masks were yet to be taken off, <br /> <br />Smiles yet to be replaced by grin, <br /> <br />Panic was the call of the hour; <br /> <br />When faith was killed right in the womb, <br /> <br />Hate ruled hearts and fear ruled minds.... <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />And I was down with hope, <br /> <br />Free-spirited, but tied with rope- <br /> <br />My mind, my heart and my soul! ! ! <br /> <br />Waiting for the judgement day, <br /> <br />When the result was known! ! ! ! <br /> <br />The dreams did ricochet- <br /> <br />When I flipped thoughts between <br /> <br />Dying as a tragic hero or a loving villain! ! ! <br /> <br />Finally, it was the moment of truth- <br /> <br />And as the terror-weapon made the strike- <br /> <br />I left my thoughts for the world and died a free-man, <br /> <br />No gains, no pains! ! !<br /><br />Arunava Bhattacharyya<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-moment-of-truth-5/
