When I write I write my life <br />When I write I say what other people cannot <br />You may read it and think that it is harsh and sad <br />But the thing is that’s how our world is. <br /> <br />I don’t write to scare people <br />I don’t write for sympathy or compassion <br />I write to inform <br />I write to be free and express my view on topics I believe are vital <br /> <br />I write from their perspective, not my own <br />I make you want to help <br />My writing is for the one’s who cannot say it themselves <br />My writing is for those who like the way I think <br /> <br />I write because you don’t have to know me <br />Or see how I look, <br />You can’t automatically judge me <br />Cause you don’t even know <br /> <br />Writing is my life because it says everything I cannot express <br />It is the way I reach people <br /> So that they will listen and not tune me out <br />By the way I look or how I talk. <br /> <br />Poetry is the new way to communicate <br />It is the secret language known by many but used by few <br />Poetry should be shared to give your outlook on your life <br />To help people understand you, the real you <br />And to stop the judgments and the disrespect we ware shown <br /> <br />This is my life, and no one truly knows who I am <br />In person. <br />But does that really matter? <br />To me it’s just a face. <br /> <br />You don't even know my real name. <br />That's how I want it to stay.<br /><br />Rose Marie Cook<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/just-a-face-3/
