You see evil all over: in the trees who whisper warnings as you creep cautiously by, <br />In the wind which whistles threats of wicked witches and poisonous potions, <br />You see unhappiness in every situation; you find sorrow in laughter and dishonesty in perfection. <br />You predict rain and thunder when the sun is shining, <br />Your day is not complete without some worry hanging heavily upon your head. <br />You let the gloomy, dull sea of depression enthral you, <br />You push away the oars that people throw you to row your boat to shore, <br />You deny every lifeline offered to you and insist on battling through the storm all by yourself. <br />You are convinced that you are beyond help. <br />You hide away from the world; you shut out your family and your friends, <br />You stop still, while the world continues in its daily humdrum, <br />The monotonous, moaning hustle and bustle of people walking down the street, <br />Every task and errand whizzing and spinning through their busy minds <br />And resting on their drooping, exhausted shoulders. <br /> <br />But amongst this pandemonium, the sun still shines brilliantly with each new day that dawns, <br />And every person, even those with troubled minds, knows this. <br /> <br />If you would only change your attitude, <br />You can see this sun again, <br />Feel this glorious warmth lavishly embracing the pores of your skin. <br /> <br />Open your eyes and you will live again.<br /><br />Twilight Whispers<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-world-through-your-eyes/
