physically speaking, I am a deaf man, <br />spiritually speaking, I am not deaf to God's word; <br />I praise and honor Him in any way I can, <br />and in my silent prayers, I know that I am heard. <br /> <br />man is spiritually blind, wounds he cannot see, <br />he laughs off the pain and hurt, ignores the cries; <br />and says, for but the grace of God, that might be me, <br />he does not see affliction, nor hears the sighs. <br /> <br />I've been deaf for twenty years, maybe longer, <br />the way of Jesus, was not always, the path for me; <br />but then, I reached life's bottom, and I got stronger, <br />the scales, fell from my eyes, then I could see. <br /> <br />because I gave my life to Him, I can stand up straighter, <br />because I gave my life to Him, I now can walk in peace; <br />I'm satisfied that He came into my life, much later, <br />because each day is filled with joys that never cease. <br /> <br />I am a deaf man and to you and others, I cannot hear, <br />the hearing aids help out, but they alone are not a cure; <br />with the prescense of the Lord, I am without man's fear, <br />and there is nothing in this world, that I cannot endure.<br /><br />david lessard<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-am-a-deaf-man/
