There are words I need to bury <br />Written on a fading purple note <br />Those words that scar – I love you, I miss you <br />X’s and O’s that oh so innocently wound my heart <br /> <br />Once they were light in my hands <br />Lifting my heart out of darkness <br />Their weight now beyond me <br />I leave them to lurk unread. <br /> <br />But today they caught me <br />My hand frozen at the drawer <br />I wasn’t ready.
