I woke up this morning, <br />Shut the alarm, <br />Brushed my teeth, <br />Took a shower, <br />It had already been an hour, <br /> <br />Started the car, <br />Thank god for heated seats, <br />Turned on the radio, <br />I was already falling asleep! <br /> <br />Walked into my office, <br />Had my stethoscope in hand, <br />So reliable is this Littman brand, <br />Stared at the clock, <br />It was only 6 a.m. on the dot, <br /> <br />I love what I do, <br />I do it well, <br />Surgery is gratifying, <br />In a nutshell <br /> <br />Made my rounds, <br />Went into the Operating Room, <br />Cured the patient from imminent doom, <br />Took a ten minute break, <br />But got beeped for an emergency, <br />Here we go again, <br />Oh, goodness sake! <br /> <br />Miraculously, it was time for lunch, <br />I would get beeped again, <br />I knew it, I just had a hunch, <br />Ate my tasteless sandwich, <br />Chugged a can of coke, <br />It was only 12: 15, is this a joke? ! <br />It's been a busy day so far, <br />My thoughts just need a minute to soak, <br /> <br />I love what I do, <br />I do it well, <br />Surgery is gratifying, <br />In a nutshell <br /> <br />Tension and Stress in the operating room <br />This is not easy, indeed, <br />Trying to save a patient, <br />Doing your job, doing your deed, <br />Looking for that gratification, <br />Every second, every minute, every hour, <br />This scalpel embodies immense power, <br /> <br />It was 11 p.m., time to go home, <br />Another late night, <br />Guess I'll be eating dinner alone, <br />This job is demanding, no doubt <br />It illustrates respect and perseverance, <br />Frustrated, sometimes I shout, <br />Regardless, at the end of the day..... <br /> <br />I love what I do, <br />I do it well, <br />Surgery is gratifying, <br />Indeed, in a nutshell! !<br /><br />Kevat B.
