He was the neighborhood nuisance
Each morning we heard his loud mouth
When he spoke he caused a disturbance
And would throw all his cigarettes about.

In truth, he was just a nasty bully
Who suffered from very poor self-esteem
He speaks in that loud voice if only
To pretend he's much better, so it seems.

In that place where I worked was a cat
She would drop by each morning for me
She would brush my leg and purr so that
I would bless her with food, hopefully.

One day this nasty bully took a slingshot
Hid behind our trellis fence to aim
At the innocent cat who lay on her mat
With the purpose of killing the same.

He fired one stone, hit the cat on the head
I was shocked so I went out to confront him
Heartbroken in tears, thought my cat was dead
Because of my anger, my mind grew dim.

At my height of five feet two inches
I was a dwarf in the face of that bully
But I pushed him down the thorn bushes -
Well the guy was really afraid of me!

All of a sudden the cat got up and ran
Escaped through the fence by one leap
Never saw her again for a month
Missing her, I did lose some good sleep.

Then one day I heard her familiar meow
And what joy - she came to the house!
Took her home with me, for all I know
That bully had turned into a silly mouse.

So now I have my cat and named her 'Muning'.

Cynthia BuhainBaello

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-bully-and-me-2/
