We can change the world <br />That’s what everyone says <br />Nations have tried many accords <br />To turn their enemies into friends <br /> <br />Yet mutiny keeps us all at odds <br />With selfish motives and idiotic drives <br />Some leaders are inebriated by parasitic thoughts <br />While others are drowned by the shallowness of their minds <br /> <br />Come and see most people’s antics <br />Then tell me if being plastic is not a crime <br />One hand shakes hands with justice <br />But the other one takes bribes <br /> <br />At least they gave us something to laugh about <br />Or are we the ones making fun of ourselves <br />Our eyes are hazed by deceiving clouds <br />Seek the truth and start to delve <br /> <br />What the world needs is healing <br />It should start from me <br />Free myself from worldly cravings <br />That’s the way it has to be <br /> <br />Though it’s not as it seems an easy task <br />With mounting impediments and torrid hearts <br />Yet it’s still much better than just to relax and bask <br />And at least try this to commence a brand new start <br /> <br />(May 12,2004)<br /><br />Reylan Loberternos<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/easier-said-than-done-5/
