War is a nonsense as it doesn't make sense, <br />It's much much better to sit on the fence. <br /> <br />There's only one race, the Human Race <br />but we Kill each other at a very fast pace. <br /> <br />We're all related if we go back far enough, <br />but sides are formed and it gets very rough. <br /> <br />Amongst the first weapons were flintstones and perhaps the odd spear, <br />We're now at the stage where we SHAKE WITH FEAR. <br /> <br />Atomic 'technology' and ridiculous 'deterrants', <br />Such folly from the Earth's tenants. <br /> <br />War is ancient but it doesn't make it right, <br />Primitives knew no better but we should now know not to fight. <br /> <br />Science isn't all fully understood, yet risks are taken, <br />Now is the time for people to awaken. <br /> <br />If Governments can't be grown up enough to talk without physical rage, <br />Then we've not moved very far from the flintstone age. <br /> <br />Atoms are everywhere, trillions, zillions, billions but, <br />We could be wiped out before we make an amazing, new, interesting discovery.<br /><br />Catherine Ayres<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ban-the-bomb-2/
