As I look up at the sky <br />On the eve of the full moon <br />Amidst the cloudless inky blackness at night <br />With the dark mosaic of stars as her patron saint <br />Adorned in her silvery attire, the lustrous moon smiled <br />Silver teeth gleaming as pomegranate seeds of white gold <br />Shimmered on the translucent azure blue of the sea <br />Like silver pearls dancing in stupendous ecstasy <br />It seemed like cloak man took all the clouds with him tonight <br />And painted the heavens as a canopy in dim light <br />As I walked on the milky white sand <br />Of the deserted beach lit aglow <br />Perfect foot prints created like a garland <br />Playing hide and seek on the wet shore <br />The surging waves gently deposited <br />Sweet butterfly kisses on my bare feet <br />As it lapped on shore dancing in a rhythmic trance <br />Keeping harmony with the tropical beat <br />The naughty ocean breeze pulled back my wet hair <br />And tangled it into a thousand stubborn knots <br />As if pleating the thick strands in a hurried affair <br />Salty wisps caressed my face like a lover, long lost <br />The salty scent of the ocean pulled at my heartstring <br />And pierced it with such rapturous longing <br />This is home where I belong, <br />A taste of paradise on earth<br /><br />Aminath Neena<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-home-paradise-on-earth/
