With a heart bursting out of its' breast, <br />Containing in it tales of an unfinished journey, <br />With a tongue so religiously repetitive, <br />Telling of sorrows, secrets and success, <br />With weak eyes holding hidden tears, <br />That are dry under man's prying eye, <br />With seven limbs resting on the ground, <br />I pray and speak to and seek from my Maker. <br /> <br />With my toes balanced to face the earth's centre <br />I pray thankfully for prayer that was handed to us in heaven, <br />And with both knees helping my body off the ground <br />I pray to again return to this position, <br />And with both palms either side <br />I pray that these hands will reach the Fruits in Heaven, <br />And with my forehead placed upon the dust <br />I make contact with the source from which I came.<br /><br />Rukhsar Ahmed<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/prostration/
