As a child I never thought to be just a wife, <br />I had grandiose dreams, would make great strides. <br />A nurse, a teacher, an interior decorator, <br />A singer, a dancer, a writer, a wrestler. <br /> <br />I never thought, as a child, <br />I would fall so completely in love. <br />I want to be your woman, your wife and love. <br /> <br />Your partner in crime, <br />Your lover, your friend. <br /> <br />Everyone talks, about women’s lib. <br />What is wrong, do they not know how to give? <br />There is something fulfilling, about being the wife, <br />Of this I am proud, and it’s what I want for my life. <br /> <br />Looking for artifacts, <br />Hunting and fishing, <br />Cooking outside, <br />On stars, I am wishing. <br /> <br />Down by the creek, <br />Watching fireflies, <br />It looks like Christmas, <br />In the trees and sky. <br /> <br />Listening to the water, go over the fall, <br />It can lull me to sleep, what a beautiful sound. <br />As we make love, by the creek, beauty abounds. <br />. <br />I thank God, for His grace, <br />His peace and love. <br />I thank God for all that I see around me. <br />Especially for you, and our family. <br /> <br />For the love of my life....<br /><br />Kimberly Lindsey<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/your-woman/
