It’s at a time like this <br />That I try to convince myself <br />To stay positive and enthused <br />But its one of those days <br />When I’m feeling so confused <br />Better to just stay in bed <br />And think of nothing instead <br />My thoughts like spaghetti <br />that swamp my mind <br />Will slowly start <br />To unravel and unwind <br />Things start to make sense <br />Growing in confidence <br />Facing the days of come what may <br />Leaving the doubts of yesterday <br />It’s at a time like this <br />When I’m feeling down and blue <br />I’m so lucky to have a friend in you <br />I know that you’re thinking <br />What to do or say <br />To help my troubles fade away <br />To put that smile back on my face <br />To take me to a happier place <br />It’s at a time like this <br />That the prayers and the wishes <br />That I’ve secretly said <br />Won’t be heard <br />They’ll just stay in my head <br />But the fact that I’ve said them <br />Seems to help with the problem <br />It’s at a time like this <br />When I remember <br />That a part of my life is now over <br />A part of my life is now gone <br />Time to turn the page <br />Leaving behind whatever went wrong <br />It’s at a time like this <br />When people I care for <br />Are really struggling just to be <br />I should count each day as a blessing <br />That they are still here with me <br />It’s at a time like this <br />Through that part of my life that is over <br />I’m glad that now I can clearly see <br />Through my pain and forgiving <br />I can move forward and believe in <br />A happier future for me.<br /><br />Allie Lusha<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/it-s-at-a-time-like-this/
