I very often sit watching the ebb and flow of the sea <br />and it always gets me thinking about you and me. <br />The way you walk out and leave me for other men, <br />and whenever it suits you, you come back again. <br /> <br />When we met, you cast out your line, hook, and bait, <br />and I swallowed everything, I was such an easy take. <br />This beautiful sea is shallow compared to your depths, <br />and there are no answers to your unfathomableness. <br /> <br />The silvery moonlight reflects across the bay; <br />why don’t you ever listen to a word I say? <br />The oceans winter coldness compares well too, <br />but it’s warmer than the iciness I get from you. <br /> <br />Why you behave this way, heaven only knows, <br />but like the sea, only the surface shows. <br />I cannot continue against this unrelenting tide, <br />it’s time to go and leave your ego behind.<br /><br />Orlando Belo<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-sea-and-you/
