A hot a sultry day it was, <br />Tired and exhausted here I was, <br />Standing on the shore across, <br />A gentle stroke of wind (Zephyr) takes a bypass. <br /> <br />Kisses my cheeks gently, <br />Energizes me instantly, <br />Felt like a touch most heavenly, <br />Washes away my stress miraculously. <br /> <br />This gentle stroke lifted my spirits <br />Energized me that very minute, <br />A tired and dull day suddenly rose, <br />For me to lookup and strike my best pose. <br /> <br />Moments sometime very stressful, <br />Life comes to a halt – very painful, <br />Hope seems remote, with no one to support, <br />An invisible entity showers you with comfort. <br /> <br />First born in a family, <br />My birth cause for ecstasy, <br />I was the Zephyr welcomed dearly, <br />Hope to continue to be one eternally. <br /> <br />Bringing joy to my parents as a infant, <br />Antics and actions constant <br />Giggles too pleasant, <br />I was their Zephyr, God sent. <br /> <br />Child I grow to be adored by all, <br />Perfect behavior, never missed a call, <br />Proud parents – I was their doll <br />Got past this phase will no major fall. <br /> <br />Teenage comes in full speed, <br />Fun and frolic and joy indeed, <br />I was always the Zephyr among my breed, <br />Giving hope to a friend in need. <br /> <br />Adulthood a new ball game, <br />Maturity with diplomacy to sustain, <br />Personal and Professional balance – a tough claim, <br />Balance I did – a perfect frame. <br /> <br />Mid Age creeps in slowly and steadily, <br />Forty and etching to fifty, <br />Responsibilities completed diligently, <br />As a parent and friend this Zephyr retires peacefully, <br /> <br />Old Age come in swaying with grace, <br />Silver mane, wrinkles and eyesight shadowed with a haze, <br />A helping hand, always at ease, <br />Grand mother I am, a Zephyr in the family maze. <br /> <br />Zephyr last a few seconds, <br />Give relief in an instant, <br />Always around and fragrant, <br />Spreading love and affection, truly rampant.<br /><br />Girija Menon<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/zephyr-a-gentle-refreshing-breeze/
