The lights they shine bright <br />A piercing bright white <br />Everything else is so lit up by its essence <br />What would we do without its presence <br />The floor reflects a dull cream <br />Living without you is harder than it seems <br />The clock reads 1: 20 <br />To finish this, time I have plenty <br />These chalkboards are anything but clean <br />Beneath that dust is a faded shade of green <br />The streets were paved with a pale black <br />From here on there is no going back <br />The eyes withered and its arms drew red <br />The only thing left is its now empty head <br />And we were afraid to touch it <br />Seeing that it looked mean <br />We wanted to know what it felt like <br />And see what has never been seen <br />The sweat oozed from its lifeless skin <br />Like a mob that has just busted in <br />Talking is just like rocking a boat <br />You sway too much and youll never stay afloat <br />A yellow light beams from the showcase <br />Coming at me as if it were a race <br />The empty street lamp flickers on and off <br />There is nobody around to see it <br />So does it exist, is it relevant <br />Raining dark gloomy water falls from the sky <br />Making me wonder who what how are they going to cry <br />An interesting concept just popped into my head <br />What if all suddenly we all were then dead <br />Or missing or gone or whatever it is <br />What would happen to this world we created <br />Enough about that, its kind of depressing <br />Have you ever noticed that music is everything <br />The taps of your fingers the stomp of your feet <br />Music is everything because everything has a beat <br />Music is love and love is good <br />That the way it is now <br />And the way it always should<br /><br />Robbie Squires<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/anything-but-this/
