Fish in the cage, swimming
Killer in his cell, smiling, grinning
A beast caged in the heart of the city
That same man is now feeling pity
The doorbell light flickers on and off
A man comes to fix it
But then it disappears
Getting fixed was its only fear
The shadow in the night
Comes in and goes out
It turns on and off the light
You better make sure that noose is hanging tight
Does the trapdoor work?
Is everything all right?
The girl comes to sell her body
I don’t know why she sought me
The beast caged in the heart of the city
Hes gotten out now
He will start killing now
We have to get out
We will go on the run
And you’re the one I want to come
Weve made it out alive
But the others weren’t so lucky inside
I think were the last two to survive
Lets build a shelter
Lets get everything together
Lets try to make it a little better
We have to cross the river
To get to the other side
To help in our search of life
We try to swim across
We instantly get lost
But at what cost?
Our hopes of survival have just been tossed

Robbie Squires

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/killer-in-his-cell/
