Birds teach us perseverance <br />And joy through trials. <br />For many of their efforts <br />Find failure or denials. <br />Many a nest that has taken, <br />So very long to build <br />Is destroyed by calamity, <br />Or eggs found to be chilled. <br /> <br />But the birds do not falter— <br />They just build their nests again; <br />Lay more eggs to nest upon; <br />Daily praise God with refrain. <br />O, what beautiful lessons— <br />These birds proclaim to us. <br />To persevere when defeated, <br />And give praise regardless. <br /> <br />They obey the laws of nature <br />And fly home to rest. <br />When the season tells them, <br />Their migration is addressed. <br />They eat what’s provided them; <br />Follow all of nature’s laws. <br />Such lessons man can learn from, <br />So he may see his flaws. <br /> <br />Birds inspired man to fly— <br />Find freedom in the air; <br />Travel throughout the world, <br />On different wings to bear. <br />But of all the many lessons, <br />Birds teach mankind at large, <br />Perseverance is the greatest, <br />And that their Creator is in charge.<br /><br />MAUREEN LEFANUE<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/birds-teach-us-many-lessons/
