The wind whispers sweet nothings in my ear, <br />The rain pours down on my head slowly, <br />Even God sheds an occasional tear. <br />The body becomes weak, <br />The mind stays strong, <br />Lord I am tired, <br />I can't stand alone for too long, <br />And then I realize that I am not alone, <br />God's always been with me, <br />But I'm just too stubborn to go home, <br />Just too stubborn to go home. <br />Life is like a river, <br />Flowing into death's eternal sea, <br />Yet I am sure that even though it may be time, <br />There's still life left for me, <br />There's still life left for me. <br />I have been many things in this life, <br />And I regret not one, <br />God alone can judge me, <br />When my time has come.<br /><br />Denice Woods<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/when-i-was-alone-2/
