I woke up today to another day of rain. <br />I wonder how long it shall remain? <br />It soaks into the ground of red clay. <br />It collects into rivulets that don’t drain away. <br />The birds love it as they wash their wings. <br />They still warble songs they sing. <br />The children don’t mind it for in their eyes <br />They see beyond the clouds in the skies. <br />But me, ah me, I am a lover of sun <br />When everything’s bright everything’s one <br />wonderful day that I hope will stay. <br />But Mother Nature has her way with me. <br />She’ll send more rain diabolically.<br /><br />Edwina Reizer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/another-day-of-rain/
