Gita Ashok - Life As I See it in a Park

2014-06-16 4 Dailymotion

Walking barefoot on dew-drenched grass;
inhaling the fragrance of the freshly cut grass
wafting gently across the park,
I begin to ponder
over the realities of life.

Shades of yellow, light and dark green,
lilac, pink, magenta and bright red
paint the park’s landscape gracefully.
They remind me of the myriad
hues and moods of man’s life.

Bees and colorful butterflies
flitting across randomly
throughout the park
make me reflect on the
fast-paced lives of man today.

Tall trees and short trees;
trees bearing flowers and fruits
keep the park cool at all times
and offer shade to the sleeping dogs.
Why do we cut them down mercilessly?

Squirrels and chameleons;
grasshoppers and frogs;
earthworms and centipedes -
all live in such perfect harmony
Why can’t we as humans live in harmony, too?

18 May 2010
8: 50 pm

Gita Ashok

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/life-as-i-see-it-in-a-park/
