When I was a little girl <br />Around four or five I'd say <br />I used to sit and look out the window <br />at different times through the day. <br /> <br />There was an elderly couple walking <br />past my place on this fine day <br />I loved to watch them holding hands <br />they looked so loving in their way. <br /> <br />I remember feeling..oh so warm <br />My heart so happy to see.. <br />these two people.. yes still in Love <br />even though they were elderly. <br /> <br />I watched them walk side by side <br />My chin on my hand did lie.. <br />Then You gently..oh so gently <br />Told me...'one is soon to die' <br /> <br />I remember being so..so still <br />I did not say a word <br />Just..'oh no'..in my head <br />My heart breaking..this You heard. <br /> <br />So..so still..I sat and watched <br />Eyes full to the brim with tears <br />'How could one..leave the other.. <br />after all these years'? <br /> <br />'One will be so lonely.. <br />Oh..they'll be so sad.. <br />What will one do without the other <br />Oh..that will be so bad' <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Now You tell me here today <br />That You were with me..way back wheres <br />And listened to my heart so very intently.. <br />amongst one of its very first prayers. <br /> <br />And now I see You had written.. <br />For those also..who ask the same <br />That soon there will be no more death. <br />A gift from Jesus Christ..Your Name! <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Rev..21 <br />And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.<br /><br />Sharon Maree Smith<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/out-of-the-mouth-of-babes/
