Petty pretences line the world, <br />Like silent deathtraps waiting to explode <br />Or implode depending on their nature, <br />Forces almost impeccably built, <br />Making forcefields around those who built them, <br />Subtely, not obvious to the public, <br />They lie in anger, waiting to vanquish, <br />Unseen, unknown, unheard, <br />Whispered about in thoughts, <br />Only by the mortally undying, <br />To satisfy the needs of those who betray them, <br />But have second faces showing fulfilment, <br />You cant take what you haven’t helped to achieve, <br />Much like Selfish clichés undertaken by the ambitionless, <br />Everything lies in a state of flux, <br />Waiting, waiting, waiting, for appeasement, it would seem, <br />Though whatever is lying in wake, in store for us, <br />Shall soon surface this earth and rise, <br />Causing detriment and atrocities to create havoc with haste, <br />Procrastination, common nowadays, <br />Slowly obliterating the world with harmless nothings, <br />All ultimately part of a chaos construction, <br />God chooses to call humanity.<br /><br />Alfie Button<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ambition-23/
