I thought the world was perfect, <br />and so was the world around me, <br />but the older i grew in age, <br />the more i began to see, <br />i never saw daddy, <br />as much as i would like, <br />i missed him so dearly, <br />but no one could see inside, <br />he wastes his day, <br />in a lonely bar, <br />he never calls, <br />he's way to far, <br />and just one word, <br />from my mouth, <br />could make him stop, <br />but i can't let it out, <br />he bets on my birthday, <br />when he goes to the lottery, <br />September 16th, <br />he thinks the number lucky, <br />I bet he drinks, <br /> 16 beers a day, <br />just to show he cares, <br />and still remembers me, <br />and maybe if i, <br />were born on the first, <br />he'd only drink one, <br />he'd hardly be hurt, <br />and i were never born, <br />therer would be no number to call, <br />maybe my daddy, <br />wouldn't ever drink at all.<br /><br />Kayluh Michelle Ennis<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/september-16th/
