This isn’t going to work at all. <br />So hard I’ve tried to keep it all together… <br />I tried to see the light of the day… <br />I tried to shade my eyes from all the sadness. <br /> <br />You brought it all out in the open. <br />I can’t say if you were right or wrong. <br />You played your hand and so out of control it went. <br />The fears and consequences started to drive you insane. <br /> <br />Did you do this all just to survive? <br />Did you spell it all out just to be vindictive? <br />Were you sure it was what you really wanted? <br />Did you know that you couldn’t bring it all back? <br /> <br />You couldn’t see the end or the beginning. <br />Stubborn you became, just digging your heels in. <br />So out of control it became, you started to regret your actions. <br />So fast you had to get out, it was going to blow up in your face. <br /> <br />You looked at your options; <br />all you could see is your own crucifixion. <br />The pressure put on yourself by your deeds is your own cross to bear. <br />You thought you would gain redemption; <br />instead it led you to your own living hell. <br />Its all over, it’s led you away, <br />going nowhere, with no hope of a future. <br /> <br />It’s led you to throwing it all away, you’ll never go back. <br />You’re willing to lose it all, <br />because you have lack the courage to hold firm. <br />Leaving you with doubts in your head, <br />not really sure what is it for. <br />Did you finally deceive yourself, <br />could you really see this all? <br /> <br />It’s led you away, from all you knew, <br />you cut you ties with everything you knew. <br />Such a move you took upon yourself, it’s all over, <br />you seem you are alone. <br />Too much pride, you’ll never come back, <br />is that what you really wanted? <br />When you wake up all alone, will you try to come back?<br /><br />Kevin Carney<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/try-to-comeback/
