I was a White Swan... <br />A Beautiful, soulful and sometimes frantic one.. <br />I Frolicked in the lake and strutted free <br />Enjoyed every rising day <br />Each nightfall was a dazzled craze <br /> <br />But all this changed, in the end of Spring <br />When they said I was no longer free to prance <br />To be confined within boundaries – in which I did not understand... <br />No more flying from East to West, they said! <br />Nor even from North to South... <br />Definitely not ever – ever- at the bi-polar ends <br /> <br />I have turned into a Black Swan.. <br />A Desperate, sorrowful and most hysteric one... <br />The lake is now curtains and barred wire, no more liberty <br />But toned right down as small as the countless pills they send <br />Like a grain of sand, laying low in the bottom of a roiled sea <br />Can do nothing, miserably accepting the painful realities - normality <br /> <br />No one seeming to care or even empathise.... <br />What is all these fuss about? <br />They said... <br />Why can’t I be left alone..and just be <br /> <br />For I wish to Fly high and dive low –The way I used to be.. <br />It s simply what I know... <br /> <br />Once... <br /> <br />It is beyond frustration when thy self cannot stay true, <br />It is just so so cruel <br />My heart aches and I feel no more, who is this person I know no more? <br />I wish as days pass pieces of me will come back, <br />But perhaps..i will never be either Swan again... <br /> <br />That <br />Was <br />Once written –from the winter months passed <br />I am glad to say...the new Spring has now brought new change... <br /> <br />Swan – Black or white neither matters... <br />What matters is what “I” – still remained <br />Each day will un-fold its destined secret, <br />If I stay mindful I will surely be in a Peaceful place <br />Quietness’ and Wisdom I dare to chase <br />I am confident my foot prints are firmly implanted deep...once - again <br /> <br />Amen..A new journey... <br /> <br /><br />AngelLucianna Vesna<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/once-an-unfinished-poem/
