I KNOW WHY THE <br />EAGLES NEST SO HIGH: <br />Original 04 18 2010 <br />Improvisation 01 03 2011 <br /> <br /> <br />The eagles’ high rock cleft is shelter <br />To hide –to spring like carrier deck <br />Propelled machines into winds above <br />The sea winds from lower plains <br />Paranormal abundance grows into <br />Medicinal winds of weed and <br />Mushroom hospice gatherings <br /> <br />I know why the eagle nest so high <br />Freed the brood nest in neutral corners <br />The causal brooding impulse <br />Eagles flustered by songs of the young <br />Faith gained through suffering <br />If she would leave with winter <br />I know why the eagles nest so high <br /> <br />From advantage -higher-ups build <br />And above nests a shadow ridge <br />Porch protrudes to hide the sun’s <br />Reflected colors of melodic rhythms <br />The coded decks repulse the <br />Satellite eyes of perambulating moons <br />I know why the eagles nest so high <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Lee Mack copyright 2009.
