An exercise-driven jogger just passed by, <br />wearing a pained expression on his face, <br />not inspiring me to join the race. <br /> <br />I decide on a hot, soothing shower instead, <br />with thousands of droplets dancing on my <br />head, <br /> <br />Untangling knoted anxieties to run down <br />the drain, <br />a showering of droplets, <br />the sweetest-sounding refrain, <br /> <br />Coursing down my grateful back, <br />enclosing me in a veil of warm vapors, <br />I close my eyes, taking in the soapy, <br />pine-like scent permeating the air, <br />I am in a rain forest without an earthly care, <br /> <br />Everything inside me momentarily at rest, <br />I reluctantly step out of my Showerfest.<br /><br />Elke Nigro<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-showerfest/
