Once I pet a parrot and taught him <br />“Peace be upon you all” <br />Many passerby must have heard <br />The beautiful words, from the bird <br /> <br />Stream of time drowned him <br />Choked the throat <br />Snatched the sound, <br />Buried him in a mound, <br /> <br />I planted a Peepal tree on his grave <br />For I loved him, parrot the brave <br />Within a month I left the place <br />I got the job by Gods grace <br /> <br />Twenty years and more had passed <br />I visited the place, seen a gigantic Peeple <br />There were many birds, including parrots <br />As I approached to that tree with trots <br /> <br />At my utter surprise, I heard the sound <br />Really at that point of time, spell bound <br />Something fallen, Oh!
