Just when I thought most things were quite alright, <br />New problems started sprouting in my life; <br />I struggled to remain righteous in light, <br />But landed in overwhelming new strife! <br /> <br />My faith was shaken, tested many times; <br />My friends had turned enemies overnight; <br />I felt forlorn as if in alien climes! <br />My conscience told to follow what was right. <br /> <br />I was the sole bread-winner in my home; <br />My honest ways had caused immense hard-ship; <br />Good principles were not at all welcome; <br />Lord Jesus was my one succor, friendship! <br /> <br />I prayed to God to save me from perils; <br />I said the rosary incessantly; <br />Numerous troubles were brought by devils; <br />I trusted God and prayed so fervently. <br /> <br />My sinfulness became like level ground; <br />My prayer-fulness became a mighty hill; <br />My tribulations no more could me hound; <br />My workplace harassment came to standstill! <br /> <br />God gave me poetry as gift in stress; <br />I wrote a lot of poems for God’s sake; <br />God brought me slowly out of my distress; <br />He gave me wisdom to discern the fake. <br /> <br />My problems melted down like snow in sun; <br />He made me dean of medical college; <br />My foes in chaos had begun to run; <br />I am a lion wise out of my cage! <br /> <br />Praying to God can work many wonders; <br />Our faith in Jesus must be strong and fine; <br />We should not fall a prey to sin, blunders; <br />Thank God from heart by songs of praise divine!<br /><br />Dr John Celes<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/almighty-god-answers-prayers-in-his-mighty-ways/
