A blind woman, a deaf man <br />coming together the best they can. <br />Sounds of a voice, movement of fingers, <br />lost of one while the other steadfast lingers. <br /> <br />Whilst together the man sings 'I can hear! ' <br />The woman exclaims 'You look beautiful my dear! ' <br />The man in the wheelchair takes another step, and a desert sky opens up as the angels wept. <br /> <br />Is it really all that hard to believe? <br />That what can destroy us, also sets us free. <br />It is love, that lovely aching in your breast, <br />the tightening and heavy footsteps in your chest. <br /> <br />It is the religion of all the earth, <br />it sends animals battling to test their worth. <br />It liberates the mind yet captures the heart <br />It brings the world together, yet tears us apart. <br /> <br />Love performs miracles in any direction, <br />turns afflicted sections into perfection. <br />Just like that the blind woman sees <br />while the deaf man hears 'forever is we.'<br /><br />Lindsey Wolf<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/selected-affliction/
