He noticed a change in her <br />just little things at the start <br />then she became forgetful <br />and no longer liked to dress smart. <br />She would often go missing <br />walking for miles out of the way <br />the Husband would eventually find her <br />but it would happen again another day. <br />She then became very aggressive <br />when once she was gentle and kind <br />this woman he loved had changed <br />and he thought she was losing her mind. <br />She had turned into a stranger <br />as she didn't even know her husbands name <br />the Doctor then gave him the awful news <br />his wife would never ever be the same. <br />This poor woman was diagnosed with Alzheimers <br />such a cruel and horrible state <br />so the husband had lost not just a wife <br />but his best friend and soul mate. <br />He visited her in the Home for years <br />where he always tried so hard to be brave <br />but now he sheds tears of relief and sadness <br />as he bends down to lay flowers upon her Grave.<br /><br />Kevin Halls<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/turning-into-a-stranger/
