Kicked a ball in the street <br />and over the local Park <br />pretended to be Bobby Charlton <br />still playing when it was dark. <br />Picked for the school team <br />felt Ten Feet tall <br />played out on the wing <br />liked dribbling with the ball. <br />Became a Football supporter <br />following my team home and away <br />stood with my mates on the terraces <br />we all met up on a Saturday. <br />Saw so many great players <br />Greaves, Law, Keegan, George Best, <br />'Bestie' was a Footballing genius <br />so much better than all the rest. <br />Been to all of the top grounds <br />watched my club win the Cup at Wembley <br />there to see Coventry win that day <br />and there still the only one for me. <br />So Football's the best game in the World <br />no other sport comes anywhere near <br />but the only downside these days <br />is that it's become ever so bloody dear!<br /><br />Kevin Halls<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/football-we-love-it/
