The Gypsy woman was at the fair
and Rose Lee was her name
she read peoples Palms
and Fortune telling was her game.
She called me to her Tent
as I must have caught her Eye
'Come over young man she said,
don't be nervous or shy. '
So I decided to step inside
and Rose Lee quickly grabbed my hand
'You've travelled the World 'she whispered,
but I'd never set foot out of England.
She then looked into her Crystal Ball
and seemed to go into a trance
'I see that you've lived before,
and you once were the King of France.'
Finally she predicted great things
and one day I'd be a well known celebrity
I'll own a Mansion and a Yacht
and always be very rich and wealthy.
She then asked to be paid for her time
as she never did it for free
and the reason she was so expensive
was that she was the one and only Rose Lee.
Well what a waste of money that was
as none of her predictions came true
and I later discovered 'her' real name
was Fred Smith a Con Man from Crewe!

Kevin Halls

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/gypsy-rose-lee/
