I sit upon the edge
My legs fall of the sides
The darkness waits below,
Hungry for my insides
I'm not afraid of falling
Exiting, don't you see?
I would start a journey
With no fear inside of me
perhaps a jump?
I seem to float
I'm barely falling
I close my eyes
The ground is calling
I stick the landing
And the world stops spinning
A new game has begun
I might be winning
A strange place I find myself
As empty as can be
Except the mist that moves around
Swirling like the sea
My hands are silver sort of shiny
They show my reflection
But all I can muster is a stare
That would not win a rigged election
I don't know why
But my mouth flies open
And words pour out
like i have never spoken
what is this place
I ask myself
A quick reply
From myself
It is heaven
A scream erupts
My lips are parted
I try to stop
but its already started
Then where is god
the stare was a smile
not a frown
head slightly tilted
by a heavy crown
you are god my boy
get started

Cody Campbell

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ode-to-empty-space/
