On my back I stare up at the ceiling <br />After a while I get a strange feeling <br />My chest felt as it would meet the floor <br />I wanted to escape, go out the door <br /> <br />But stuck I was with no way to flee <br />What had happened, why to me? <br />I struggle, I try with no progress in sight <br />Finished am I with not even a fight? <br /> <br />Harder I try, the more pain is built <br />My will was dying, my world on tilt <br />Thoughts of despair started filling my head <br />Just end it now, let it all go instead? <br /> <br />Trying to control, get my mind straight <br />But my emotions loose, seemed too late <br />Short of breath and tears soon follow <br />What was this that didn't feel hollow? <br /> <br />Squirmed and twisted, still the feeling stayed <br />With echoes made I waited for aide <br />No one came so I had to stay still <br />As time flowed past, I gradually became ill <br /> <br />Heart and mind both sick, became weak <br />I begged death to deliver me from this peak <br />Maybe then I would be freed from this <br />Although I may forever cease to exist <br /> <br />Still an endless rest I long to find <br />Rather than this confusion in mind <br />Mystery still to when this might be lifted <br />Until then my emotions will constantly be shifted<br /><br />Timothy Ko.<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/crushed-nearly/
