The president of our brotherly nation <br />tries to strike terror in us <br />crying ‘nukes will hit our cities <br />if his country’s borders are crossed’. <br />We are not dribbling with nukes as he does <br />and our people aren’t lying on flower-beds <br />to have any fears for losing life <br />when bombs are rained on us. <br />In public offices shells of bribes burst daily <br />and the people have no place to cower. <br />Officers shoot those under with threats <br />and ‘Mementos galore’ in meetings. <br />Lives of workers are blown up <br />being driven out every three years. <br />Women crawl off the line of control <br />to garner some notes to feed their dependents. <br />The youths roam with guns <br />swearing for another freedom <br />but lob they bombs on the harmless. <br />Many a family plunge in flames <br />and swallow poisoned food <br />groaning under the weight of debts! <br />The public servants can’t let the cat out of the bag <br />as the laws scare them and the court bars them. <br />Honesty sleeps and snores on the filth <br />in the trenches of politics. <br />People are stabbed in the back <br />with fraud in business and banks new. <br />They have no strength to retaliate <br />as the powers are in the gloves of traders. <br />Let him hurl nukes anywhere. <br />They may not be worse than what we have. <br />Missiles with warheads are not harsher <br />than the shameless brutes in every walk of life. <br />When people bury themselves in penury <br />he bedecks the thoughts of war with glory. <br />What good fate has in store for the poor? <br />The general should set up mines <br />under the primitive cults of religions <br />to blow up and for love to burgeon <br />in the minds of all to live in peace.<br /><br />rajendran muthiah<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/nukes-and-terrors/
