I encountered many deities wandering <br />Through the corner of a backstreet <br />As starved, enervated and desperated: <br />With sunken eyes and worm-eaten wounds, <br />Sobbing and throbbing in pain <br />In them I found the face of children <br />Those banished deities from the fortress <br />Of ever blemished hearts of human <br />Seemed to me like the withered petals of an autumn flower <br />They were vulnerable and easily broken <br />With their incurable wounds <br />Their bloody tears were insatiable <br />For the thirst of their dried lips <br />Nor a bloomy ray of hopes or dreams, <br />Had on their gloomy faces <br />Save these orphan dieties of this world <br />Than wandering for worshipping a caged God <br />Let's give a piece of bread to these deities <br />As praises to satiate their hunger <br />Let's save them from this filthy world<br /><br />VIPINS PUTHOORAN<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-deities-of-the-filthy-world/
