I dreamt it was a freezing frosty night <br />Stars and moon shone sharpely bright <br />I walked alone the mountain path <br />My every foostep crackled <br />With the very air knife- edged <br />No other creature showed its' face <br />When before me, there appeared <br />A man, the like, never before seen <br />'Come with me', he sang, not spake <br />His voice like silvery bells <br />We left Earth, hand in hand <br />Flying up through the air <br />How strange that I was unafraid <br />Whilst in this strangers grasp <br />He was white and silver, cold as ice <br />Yet to me he seemed warm <br />We flew past the stars and moon <br />Made love upon some planet <br />Love such as I have never known <br />Nor will ever know again <br />Yet that once was enough <br />To satisfy me for all time <br />Before returning to the mountain path <br />He left me standing there <br />And disappeared back up into the sky <br />As a comet, continuing on its' journey.<br /><br />Marilyn Shepperson<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-unearthly-lover/
