The stars are dancing, <br />night has come, draped in velvet. <br />Distant drops of golden light are <br />the buttons of her gown. <br />Crickets chirp a minuet <br />as the stars are dancing. <br /> <br />Twirling in heaven-bound eternity, <br />infinity stretches out, <br />collapses into nothing more <br />than a daydream seen in passing clouds. <br />Ethereal music resounds on high <br />as the stars are dancing. <br /> <br />Hearts are breaking, <br />hearts can mend. <br />Each breath taken <br />is released. <br />Peace. <br />Darkness comes with the night, <br />and the stars are dancing. <br /> <br />Rain is falling now, <br />but clouds pass with a breath. <br />It seems so dark, <br />but it is almost dawn. <br />The skies will clear, and then <br />you can see the stars dancing. <br /> <br />Ocean gives way to ocean. <br />Night begins to slowly unbutton her gown, <br />deepest velvet with glittering gold, <br />and beneath is revealed <br />the light fabric of day, <br />as, in the distance, <br />the stars dance away.<br /><br />Elizabeth Grace<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/eternal-dance/
